A non-stitchy related post, of sorts

Image
I am trying to rework my writing blog a little bit, so I may post non-stitchy thoughts here from time to time. If you want to see what my writing blog is all about, check out A Day in the Life of Me . ***** Just some random thoughts I have been having lately. If I could tell [you] how I truly feel about you, I would. I am looking forward to spending some time with a good friend that I haven’t seen in a few years! My job is going so well right now that I am afraid it will all come to an end; I know it won’t. It’s just my reactive fear to past situations. I feel like I am beginning to walk down the path I am supposed to be on; at times I don’t. The Big Bang Theory is one of my most favorite shows ~ currently! I am still just taking things one day at a time. It’s all I can really do. Well, I won’t bore y’all anymore! Happy MAY DAY to all of you, my readers!!

My Favorite Day of the Year

How many of us really know the origins of May Day? Most of us know that it is the 1st day of May. I know that it means 20 more days until my birthday. It is also associated with the Gaelic Beltane . Many pagan celebrations were abandoned or Christianized during the process of conversion in Europe. A more secular version of May Day continues to be observed in Europe and America. In this form, May Day may be best known for its tradition of dancing the maypole dance and crowning of the Queen of the May . Various Neopagan groups celebrate reconstructed (to varying degrees) versions of these customs on May 1st. The day was a traditional summer holiday in many pre-Christian European pagan cultures. While February 1 was the first day of Spring , ...

It’s the first day of May so do you know what that means?! It’s May Day!! My second favorite date of the year (after my birthday, of course, which falls in the month of MAY). In a few short days, I will be 1 year away from turning 4-0! Oh My God!!! I am thankful for the last 38 years, and 344 days I have spent on this Earth and I am looking forward to many more years, God Willing! I will be back for a stitchy update on Monday evening. For now, be sure to check my left sidebar for the latest Giveaways! I know there must be more than what I have listed, but I haven’t run across them…YET. Until next time…

Happy May Day!

This will be the first of two posts. I wanted to get this out there right away, and will post my stitchy news in another post in a little while. May is probably my all-time favorite month of the year. Partly because of the wonderful holidays we celebrate: May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, Armed Forces Day, and Memorial Day to name a few. Hey, did you know that today also marks the beginning of National Postcard Week?! Well, for those of you involved in the Postcard Exchange, let’s make this a spectacular week and send out some postcards. I will make it a point to send out a postcard to everyone who (1) requests one – just email me at frggygrl@aol.com with your post information, and (2) I have already sent one too, just to celebrate this week! And the most important reason May is my all-time favorite month?! You guessed it! It is the month in which I celebrate the anniversary of my birth. The 21st to be precise! Here is a little holiday trivia for that day:   May 21...
