A Stitching Update

Image
I can’t believe that I haven’t picked up a single project in at least 6 months now! Not that I haven’t wanted to work on anything because I have. I just had a lot of stuff going on in my life and couldn’t seem to find the time to work on any of my WIPs. Not to mention that a lot of my stash is safely packed away in the closet in the spare room. That’s a project that I will have to get to and soon! But I digress… Here are some pictures of my WIPs (that I have every intention on making a dent in over the remainder of this year): As you can see, a couple of them are nearly complete. Hopefully I will be able to get back into these soon! Oh, and please share my blog with your blogging friends. I would greatly appreciate it! :)

August WIPocalypse Check-in!

Image
Is it really that time again!?! And I missed the supermoon (stupid monsoon season)!?!?!?! Where have I been lately? LOL Yeah, that's about how things are for me. Confusing as usual. I did finally finish all of the x's in The Gardeners and only have the backstitch details to go. Here's a pic... or two... On the bright side, I feel good about this piece. Can't wait to frame it and hang it somewhere in my home (once all of the house repairs/remodeling gets done and hopefully in this decade, lol). This month's topic: Tell us about your oldest and newest WIPs. Well, let's see. My oldest has got to be Coming Home for the Holidays . I was stitching this for my dad and nearly had the x's finished before he passed. I still have a little bit to go; mainly backstitch. He at least got to see it before he went to build my mansion in Heaven (he was a carpenter after all much like Jesus). Here's what it looks like currently, and for the past several m...

The Gardeners...An Update

Just a quick post to share the long anticipated update on The Gardeners. I finally got around to taking a picture.

WIPocalypse: A Stitchy Catch-Up

Image
I know I have been away for a little while. It's been a busy couple of weeks. I have managed to get some stitching in and am here to post my WIPocalypse progress. But first, a little bit about my stitching habits. This month's question is How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits. Well, I have had up to 20 projects going at one time. Let me explain this. A few years back (2011) I joined a Crazy Challenge SAL where we started a new project each day for the first 15 days of the year. In addition to those projects, I had a few others going. I liked that each day of the first 15 each month was devoted to one project. That gave me the rest of the month to work on others. You'd have to go back through my archives to see the progression each month. So, I guess the best answer is I am comfortable having a selection to choose from and rotate on a regular basis. However, the past couple...

Weekend Stitching Progress

Image
Well, I already shared with you some of my weekend stitching, but here is what I have done since: I almost have the 3rd page completed! Definitely will have a finish next weekend!!

WIPocalypse Check-In for January

Image
Hi all! I decided to rejoin this SAL for this year. I took a year off from the SAL as I was dealing with the range of emotions following my dad's death in 2012. I am still dealing, but at least happy to report that I am picking that needle and floss back up more frequently. This alone made me want to be held accountable for finally finishing some of my WIPs that I neglected last year. My Page called "WIPocalypse 2014" will be published later this weekend and will have the list of projects I hope to complete this year. For now, I will share with you my progress on "The Gardeners": This is where I left off in December 2012 This is where I left off as of 1.15.14 Next time I will have progress on this as well as "Coming Home for the Holidays" as Lana and I have decided to SAL that one again this year.

My Weekend with The Gardeners

I spent some quality time with "The Gardeners" this weekend and now have 2 1/2 pages completed. Here is a picture: Not much else to report. Next weekend is my SAL with Lana on "Coming Home for the Holidays".

The Gardeners Progress and New Chart

Well, Hobby Lobby officially opened in our little town this weekend and I went there on Saturday. My intention was to browse around and price some things but I wound up purchasing something. Now, I didn't spend a whole lot of money as I don't really have the extra right now, but I couldn't pass up my favorite Chapter in the Bible: I have also put quite a bit of time into "The Gardeners". Here is where I left off last night: Lana, over at A Joyful Stitcher , and I are going to pick up our "Coming Home for the Holidays" SAL again beginning on Jan 18th. We will be stitching on it 1 Saturday each month as a way to encourage and motivate one another to finish. If you are stitching this and would like to join us, just send me a quick note (frggygrl@aol.com). Another thing she asked is if I would be interested in doing a Bible Study together. So, in addition to the Ladies' Group I am involved with at church and my own personal study time (i.e....

It's Almost Over...

...2013 that is! I wasn't sure if I was going to post again before the end of this year or not, but decided to share progress on "The Gardeners". If you remember, this is where I last left things. I haven't stitched on it all year. Well, this is what it looks like as of last night (when I put it up for the night): The Gardeners by Elsa Williams ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abu Sandy to the left The cats got their flea baths tonight! They weren't too happy with me, but now I think they've calmed down. They're not scratching as much as many of the fleas are dead. Here's what my drowned rats looked: For a short while, Abu wouldn't let Sandy into my room. She growled and whined at him. I finally scared him off. Although he only went as far as my bed. Made Sandy feel a little better though. Yet he still wants to "stalk" her, lol.
