Image
Well, I finally found a moment to post an update on my last PIF that was sent out before Thanksgiving. I have been notified of its receipt and can now post a picture here: Final PIF 2010 VIEW SLIDE SHOW DOWNLOAD ALL I am so glad that Nita likes the PIF I sent to her. I had a fun time putting these little packages together throughout the year. Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in 2011. I have committe...

…this: “ Boo” – JCS Freebie Design by Sharon Pope Stitched on 28-ct Sand (instead of Salt) Carolina Linen Recommended DMC and Kreinik Fine Braid colors I just have to make a trip to one of my not-so-LNS’s (Kissimmee or St. Pete) to pick up the recommended Kreinik braid. I think I may spend Sunday working on the Coming Home for the Holidays. I haven’t touched it in a couple of weeks and really need to get the lead out to have it finished for Christmas for my dad! I am starting a new work schedule this week, so that will definitely help me accomplish the finish. I also wanted to share this with you: Yup! I received my diploma in the mail today!!! I am so happy. Now I just need to get a frame and matte board for it and hang it next to my BA diploma. Woo Hoo I picked up a few items to include in the PIF, Swap Party, and Biscornu exchange tonight. I should finally be mailing out the PIF Monday!

Sneak Peak and some Roses

Well, I decided to give a sneak peak at the PIF I will be mailing out next week. I just have to figure out how to do the french knots or use beads and how I will finish it! And the roses, well, you will have to visit my Photog blog to view them, but let me just say that they are HUGE! ***Updated to add: Hey all you stitchers out there! If you need or desire a copy of the JCS 2010 Ornament Preview, check out this blog for a chance to obtain a copy!!! You only have until the 24th, so act fast...and good luck!

Never Forget, Always Remember

That is something that we have lived with for 9 long years now. Following are some clips from the web: United Flight 93 Memorial rendition For me personally, this event triggered my PTSD to the forefront of my life. I have dealt with this illness for more than 15 years fairly successfully keeping the symptoms at bay. On September 11, 2001 those symptoms came back, however temporarily. Two nights prior to this event, I dreamed of a plane crashing into a tall building. I didn’t think much of it as my dreams can be rather strange at times. I was also a bit under the weather at the time so I thought maybe it was just the cold playing havoc with my subconscious. On the morning of the 11th, my mother was driving me to Ann Arbor (MI) to the VA Hospital ER. As we got closer to the Ann Arbor/Detroit area, I noticed semis pulled over all over the place. Well, being so close to the Canadian border, my first thought was drugs. I had no idea why security was heightened at the VA either. W...

A PIF, A RAK, and etc…

Image
Well, here it is the middle of the last week of May! I had a wonderful birthday weekend and am looking forward to next week when I go to Michigan, with my big sister. It is our first road trip together, EVER! Keep in mind, I am 38 and she is 41. We did not grow up together as we have different mothers. We’re gonna have soooo much fun! On the stitchy front, I received a beautifully stitched PIF today from Lisa ! Thank you so much! I love it!!! Here is a snap of the front: and the reverse: I just love the backing fabric (well, blue is my favorite color, lol)!! I also mailed out a very super-shhhh RAK today as well as another PIF. Here are a couple of sneaky peaks: I am so excited for the recipients I can’t stand it!

Not much to post

I have been soooo busy at the flower shop this week. I have only been home for about half hour tonight. As of right now, I have not finished the giveaway and PIF pieces. I won't be able to get back to stitching until Monday. With that said, I will be mailing the packages out next week. Sorry for the long delay. Between the end of the semester and the holiday, time just slipped away...quickly! I will post an updated TUSAL photo on Monday. For now, Happy Valentine's Weekend to all of my blog buddies!!!

Very Cool Valentine's Giveaway

Image
Hop on over to Jennifer's blog for an incredible Valentine's Day Giveaway! I am just about finished with the small pieces that will be sent to the winners with their magazines. I will be mailing them out within the week (before Valentine's Day - and I always send Priority for tracking purposes). I sent an email to Sandra - please if you read this post - get in touch with me!!! I need your address. I am also just about ready to send my first PIF for the year. Who will be the lucky recipient??? I did manage to finish~finish my Happy Christmas ornie. Here's are a few pics: Not too bad for my first attempt at making an ornament. I just forgot to think about a way to hang it. I think I will use this ornie as a "standing" decoration. I don't intend to put it on my tree, so I will set it on my bookshelf each year. That's it for now!

Not Much Progress

I haven't any pictures to share at this time. I am busily working on my PIF piece and the 4 winners' pieces, so I am unable to post pictures until those are received. I am also in the last two weeks of the semester at university, (not to mention I received my hours for next week at the flower shop and can I say "24/7" - LOL) so that doesn't leave much time for anything substantial. I will resume Charger , Christmas Design SAL, HalloSAL, and Pumpkin Conspiracy after the holiday. For now, I will leave you with a few of my favorite things: Frog glass piece with candle behind it WWII era iconic image - statue located in Sarasota, FL One of the space shuttle launches as seen from my home in Zephyrhills, FL Sandy
