The Book of Job

Image
I have read through Chapter 3 in the book of Job so far. I am taking part in a Bible Study through Good Morning Girls . If you're not familiar, click on the button to the left or on the link in this post. So, as I said, I have read through chapter 3. Normally when I read Job I just plow right through it. I have read it several times in my life. It is my all time favorite book. This time, however, I am reading it in a different manner. I am taking my time, moving at the pace of the Bible Study, and reflecting on what I read. So far, I feel like I am getting more out of it than I did in previous reads. This book is primarily about suffering and what we do in difficult times. Namely, how we handle the storms in life. I know I need a lot of work in this area. I think that's why Job appeals to me so much: I can relate. I just wish I would allow these teachings to sink in; like the phrase "Storms in life" referring to Peter walking on water and keeping his eyes on Jesus. On...

Hurricane Sandy

To all of my friends in the path of Sandy, (no, not this Sandy although she has been a bit of a “hurricane” lately) please seek shelter and stay safe! A lot has been happening in my life over the past couple weeks. I have accepted a new job and start on Nov 5th! I am still with the State and keep my benefits, however I will be receiving about $7,000 more in salary per year. I am beyond excited and a little sad. I am sad to leave all of my new friends at DOC. Although we will keep in touch and a few of us plan to still get together for card night. I am excited because it is a position working with veteran’s. This is something I have been wanting to do for quite some time now. And now for the WIPocalypse update! I worked on Coming Home for the Holidays in my SAL with Lana. I am sooo close on this one. I need to do the detail work and contact Dimensions for replacement floss.   I worked on Medallions :   I am not too happy about the new skein of floss (Aqua Clouds by Si...

Quick Post

I have been stitching on an ornament on-and-off all weekend and I am almost finished with the stitching portion of it. I will post a picture later in the week. Speaking of the upcoming week, my work hours have changed. I am now working Mon-Thu 7:30am to 6pm. This gives me an extra day to stitch on the weekends, YIPPEE!!!   Of course, this is only temporary until I am either transferred or get my own vehicle. Not going to say much more on that subject. Have a great week!!!

Been a long day

Welcome to my newest followers!!! I have been up since 5am EST and I am tired. I had a 2 hour drive to Orlando for orientation this morning. That was actually the most entertaining orientation I have ever been to, lol! I start at my work site on Monday morning. I am excited and still a bit intimidated. I will be working at a female prison about an hour away. The drive is not bad, really. I have never worked at a prison before, so it’s kinda scary. I know all will be well though. I am a secretary there. Yeah, I have a M.A. degree but there are just no jobs in education around here right now. Besides, this new job is a State of FL position which means benefits such as retirement!!! YAY!!! I plan to enjoy the rest of the weekend finishing up a couple of projects. And I will throw in a couple hours for church on Sunday (or as one of my cousin’s likes to call it: sun-dee, ha) of course! Here are a couple of progress pics on Week-end a Paris : Before detailing Partial detailin...
