This Week In American History

Well, America made a definitive mark in history this week. We became more of an eyesore on the world stage thanks to a bunch of people who thought they were acting on the behalf of our sitting president. While I have been a supporter of President Trump the past few years and believe he has done a great job in this role, I do not condone the violent actions that took place at our Capitol on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I do not believe, however, that the people who rioted were actually Trump supporters. I feel they were anarchists embedded within the group who were peacefully marching to the Capitol building that day. I don't blame Trump for what happened there on Wednesday. I blame the Capitol Police for their failure to have enough manpower at the ready. They knew that Trump was holding a rally just down the road. They knew that some might be pumped up after. They should have been more prepared and had better security at the Capitol building including National Guard members, FBI, Secret Service: already there!

Capitol Police dropped the ball on this one!!

It is shameful that our country has become what it has. We have two major political parties that have fought one another for decades on policy, but not as fiercely as they have over the last four years. The democratic party has done everything in its tool house to bring Trump to his knees up to and including impeachment. They have failed at every turn. The election in November was the last straw for him, as a man, I think. He doesn't lose well. Everyone knows this. And I do mean everyone. Was there fraud involved? Most definitely. Should the evidence have been looked at with more scrutiny than it seems to have been? Absolutely. Because his supporters, the Republican party, really needed that closure before Wednesday.

Well, on January 20th there will be a new president sworn in and as a Trump supporter, I am ok with that. The Electoral College did its job. Congress did its job. The vote is certified. And we can only move forward from here. I pray that our country can recover from this week in our history. I fear that the next administration is only going to damage our constitutional republic and create a socialist form of government. I fear that not long after President-elect Biden is sworn in, the 25th Amendment will be invoked on him making way for the worst possible outcome: a female president that wants to dismantle our justice system and usher in socialism.
