Wham!

Image
I loved, and still do, Wham! as a teen. I especially loved the guitarist, Andrew Ridgeley. He recently published a memoir and I am excited to own a copy. Looking through the images he chose to include brought back many memories or listening to their music and watching their videos. I have every album and video collection they put out. Yes, I still have vhs and vinyl! Only wish I could have seen them in concert.

Here we go again...

So, Dorian is barreling toward us in the Atlantic. Am I worried? Nope. I live on the west side of Florida. By the time it reaches us, it will have been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. And, the area where I live is hilly (yes, there are HILLS in Florida), so it will break up a bit. I do expect we will have flooding, maybe some power outage, closures, and debris, but nothing like what the east coast will experience. I could be wrong. To give you an idea of where I live, see the 1 in the center of the state. Yep, I live right around the western edge of that symbol. What will I do with the time off we could possibly have from work: CROSS STITCH and sleep! May as well. Lord knows we are getting tired of the same ol, same ol. Cards and Chess. Besides, I have several WIPs that I would love to work on again and possibly finish. If for some reason I have to evacuate, well let's just not even think about that! This time, 2 years ago, we were facing Irma. And man was it ever an anx...

Epcot Birthday Celebration (picture heavy)

Image
So this month I celebrate my 47th birthday. Ok, it was this past Tuesday. I decided to spend this past Saturday with my sister at Epcot. I purchased annual passes last year and they expire soon, so I'm getting the most out of them, lol. Anyway, my sister is a floral designer and the International Flower Festival is happening at Epcot. Great combination! We had so much fun together! We hardly get to spend time together anymore, so this was extra special. Here are some pics from our day: Took me almost 30 years to get a picture with Goofy! All of the characters are made out of flower/plant materials; except Goofy, he's real!  I am going to Epcot one last time this month and then the passes are done. I'm looking forward to the final visit (for a while).

May 8, 2019

Where has the year gone? I don't get on here nearly as much as I'd like. This year is flying by so quickly. Most days I can't decide if I'm coming or going, lol. Well, last week I was given the option to slow down for a minute. Not an option I would have chosen. Not that I don't want to slow my life down, I do. However, sometimes God intervenes and says "OK, since you won't slow down for yourself, I will give you a reason to." Yea, God, I listened.  On April 29 I went to the local Veteran's Hospital ER with what I thought might be heart issues. While I was getting ready for work I had symptoms of what might have been a heart attack. By the time supper rolled around, I was being admitted for surgery to have my gallbladder removed. So yes, I have had to slow down a little recently. Unfortunately, this also means a serious change in my diet. I really have to limit my sugar, fat, and fried food intake. I had already been working on that when this ca...

Is it really 2019?!

It's hard to believe how quickly 2018 went by and that we're already into February of 2019. A lot is going on in this world, good and bad. A lot is happening in my life, good and bad. I won't get into any of it right now. I am listening to President Trump (I still can't believe he's president, lol) give his State of the Union Address to Congress. I'm hopeful our congressional representatives will get their crap together for the sake of our nation. Again, I won't go into any real detail here. So, I am sitting in my hotel room, in Kissimmee. Not too far from Disney World and yes I will be visiting one of the parks this week. Not too far from several friends. I may see one or two later this week. Not too far from where my work conference is located. All the while wishing my cat were here with me, or my niece, or even my friend (which would mean having a cat-sitter, lol). But, I do need this time away so I can get MY crap together, lol. And hopefully get my ...

Michael

Image
While we are not being directly affected by Michael in the East Pasco area, many of my family and friends to the north are or will be. It's amazing that just over a year ago I was in Taylorsville, Mississippi escaping Irma. A few weeks ago, that same area took basically a direct hit from a hurricane, albeit a small one if not a tropical storm. And here we are almost half-way through October and Michael is about to hit land. I leave you with an image found online...
